Threading the Machine<br />

• Threading the machine<br />

* Raise the thread take-up lever to its highest position by<br />

turning the handwheel counterclockwise.<br />

* Raise the presser foot lifter.<br />

* Place a spool on the spool pin, with the thread coming<br />

off as shown.<br />

Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread guide.<br />

While holding the thread near the spool, draw the end of<br />

the thread down around the check spring holder.<br />

Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the<br />

take-up lever, and down into the take-up lever eye.<br />

Slide the thread behind the needle bar thread guide on<br />

the left.<br />

Thread the needle from front to back, or use a needle<br />

threader.<br />

z Raise the needle to its highest position. Push down the<br />

needle threader knob q as far as it will go.<br />

The hook comes out through the needle eye from<br />

behind.<br />

x Paying close attention to the needle point, draw the<br />

thread around the guide e and under the hook w.<br />

c Release the knob slowly while holding the thread end r<br />

with your hand. A loop of the thread is pulled up through<br />

the needle eye.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The needle threader can be used with a #11 to #16<br />

needle, or a #11 Blue needle.<br />

Thread size 50 to 100 is recommended.<br />
