05 Use Other Equipment With Your Flat Panel TV<br />

If there is no sound, specify another audio signal type. Depending on the type of equipment, sound output may<br />

require analog audio cables in addition to the HDMI connection(s).<br />

Note: When signals come through the HDMI terminals, no signals are output from the DIGITAL OUT terminal if<br />

they are copy guar<strong>de</strong>d.<br />

5.3 Control Equipment with the Panel’s Remote Through HDMI<br />

Your flat panel TV’s remote can control other equipment such as a recor<strong>de</strong>r, player, or AV system through the HDMI<br />

Control functions. The HDMI Control functions inclu<strong>de</strong> playback of content using an on-screen control panel.<br />

However, not all <strong>de</strong>vice operations may be available through HDMI control. For d<strong>et</strong>ails, see the charts below.<br />

Function Description<br />

Pressing PLAY on a connected <strong>de</strong>vice<br />

automatically selects the source and<br />

begins playback.<br />

Recor<strong>de</strong>r/player operation can be<br />

controlled on-screen or with the<br />

panel’s remote (play, stop, fast<br />

forward/reverse, <strong>et</strong>c.).<br />

Information on the display menu<br />

language transfers to the recor<strong>de</strong>r or<br />

player connected to the flat panel TV.<br />

For d<strong>et</strong>ails, see the operation manual<br />

that came with the recor<strong>de</strong>r or player.<br />

Receiver/amplifier operation can also<br />

be controlled with the panel’s remote,<br />

(volume, surround mo<strong>de</strong> and input<br />

selection of the HDMI terminal).<br />

The flat panel TV can be turned On<br />

when a connected recor<strong>de</strong>r(s) or<br />

player(s) is turned On and images are<br />

input to the flat panel TV.<br />

The connected <strong>de</strong>vice(s) can be<br />

turned Off when the flat panel TV is<br />

turned Off.<br />

Notes: The KURO LINK function name used on the web and in catalogs is referred to as HDMI Control in the<br />

operating instructions and on the product.<br />

Except for Power Off and Display Language S<strong>et</strong>up functions, only a single HDMI terminal may be active at<br />

a time.<br />
