Doe, Minister forPost and Telecommunications, visited the InternationalBureau in May to call for <strong>UPU</strong> assistance in rebuildinghis country’s postal service. “We need your help,”said the economist. “I’ve toured the facilities, and thesituation is awful.” Of the country’s 160 post offices,seven sub-post offices are functional today. Created at theCC’s meeting held during the recent Postal OperationsCouncil session, the group will provi<strong>de</strong> private-sectorinput into the <strong>UPU</strong> <strong>de</strong>bates on this issue.
