15. (1) No person may publish or reproduce the whole orany part of the contents of any archives or records whichhave been transferred to the National Archives except withthe written consent of the Director.(2) Nothing in this section shall be construed asaffecting or extending the law relating to copyright.Publication of publicarchives.16. No person shall without the written permission of theDirector take or send out of Malaysia any public record orpublic archive.Prohibition of export ofpublic records andarchives.17. The Minister may make regulations for the bettercarrying out of the provisions of this Act; and withoutprejudice to the generality of the foregoing maya)prescribe the fees to be charged by the Director forthe making and certifying of copies of any archivesor racords in the National Archive;b) provide for exempting from the payment in wholeor in part of any public archives or public recordsin the National Archives;c) provide for the preservation and protection ofarchives and records in the National Archives andthe conduct of visitors thereto;d) provide anything which may be prescribed underthis Act.Regulations.18. Any person who contravenes any provision of this Actshall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine notexceeding one thousand dollars or to imprisonment for aperiod not exceedin six months or both.Penalties.91
