I NCONTRI
The first edition of the InMotion GP
Those who spent the evening of June 14 at the Modena
Autodrome certainly refreshed - or started, as the case may
be - an intense relationship with speed. Two racing cars
were available to the participants of the first edition of the
InMotion Grand Prix: a 570 horsepower Red Ferrari F458
Challenge for the “Prancing Horse” customers’ competitions
and two KTM X-BOWs, two-seaters with open cockpit, a
combination of power and lightness.
Next to a professional driver, the 2,007 meters of the
autodrome were run in just over a minute in the so-called
“hot lap”, the timed fast lap.
The best time was set by Antonio Magnacca from Bodycote.
Not only pure speed: among the other activities organized
at the autodrome, there was also a grand prix simulator
and a driving ability track that included slaloming between
obstacles on the track and ended with a braking on watered
track.
The so-called “car soccer” was also a great success, i.e. the
possibility of kicking a penalty using two special “shoes”
attached to carriages at the back of a car.
Few people managed
to score a goal, but
many had fun trying to
control skids, fortunately
at low speeds.
of the two associations were celebrated. As
confirmed by Tomaso Carraro, President of
ASSIOT, the forecasts for the sector show that
2017 could be characterized by an increase
in production of about 5%, up on 2016, which
was basically a year of consolidation. Certainly,
Carraro said, “the road to an ever stronger
integration with ASSOFLUID is what we want
to pursue”.
The ASSOFLUID assembly also opened with
President Domenico Di Monte’s report. He
reiterated the industry positive moment,
confirming the growth of both sectors,
pneumatics and hydraulics. Growth also
affects the association activity, thanks to
the new organization that involves both the
structure (with the formation of three working
groups, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical
actuation) and content and services.
President Di Monte emphasized the concept
of “team”, distinguishing it from “group”. If
the leitmotiv of the 2016 meeting was selfconfidence
(it should not be forgotten that
ASSOFLUID and ASSIOT account for a quarter
of Federmacchine’s turnover), motivation
(i.e. the will to work for a common purpose)
and action (to do the things you already do
even better), this year’s assembly focused on
the evolution of this concept over the next
three years. Julio Velasco’s words were also
used as a starting point to emphasize this
evolution: “A group is made up of people who
are together. A team is made up of people who
act consciously and with specific roles. And
everyone’s role in the team is decisive”.
One of the Association’s goals for 2017 is to
work to “systematically provide added value
services”, to use the President’s words.
Networking will increasingly be at the
center of the mission; collaboration with
other associations, trade fairs, as well as
universities and standard-setting bodies, will
be further encouraged.
The assembly was also the occasion for
appointing the Association’s Board of
Directors; it was decided to increase the
number of members, and all the nine
candidates have become part of the board
for the 2017-2021 four-year period: Loris
Chierici (Walvoil); Angelo Colombo (Elettrotec);
Domenico Di Monte (Camozzi); Paolo
Mambretti (Verzolla); Gabriele Manno (Festo);
Paolo Marzocchi (Marzocchi Pompe); Paolo
Mastrorilli (Parker Hannifin Italy); Emanuele
Morandi (Pneumax); Luca Riva (Duplomatic
Oleodinamica). Domenico Di Monte was reelected
to the presidency. l
