IT Giuseppe Chigiotti ripensa a Vienna, la
grande Vienna degli inizi del secolo scorso ove Wagner e
Loos, piuttosto che Klimt e Schiele ascoltavano Mahler e
leggevano Schnitzler o Freud. Ripensa, nello specifico,
a Josef Hoffmann. Ad Hoffmann si ispira infatti nella modulazione del
capitonné, ma anche, più sottilmente, nell’intento di recuperare una
serie di riti borghesi, primo fra tutti quello della conversazione.
EN Giuseppe Chigiotti casts his mind back to the great
Vienna of the early 20th century, where Wagner and Loos, along with
Klimt and Schiele, listened to Mahler and read Schnitzler or Freud. He
thinks truly about Josef Hoffmann and takes inspiration from him in
the squared button-back pattern and, more subtly, in the recovering
of the bourgeois custom of conversation.
