Estreou na televisão em 2003. Sempre quis ser ator?
Sempre achei a ideia interessante. Porém, distante. Nos anos
anteriores ao meu primeiro trabalho cursava Publicidade e
Propaganda e tinha intenção de me tornar diretor de criação.
Comecei a estudar teatro como atividade extracurricular
pensando na apresentação e venda de projetos. Fui gostando,
intensificando meus estudos e me aproximando mais dessa
área. No começo mantive segredo, poucos sabiam dos meus
estudos. Não queria levantar expectativas. Sempre gostei de
televisão, cinema e tecnologia. Junto com o teatro comecei
a me preparar para as câmeras.
Foi difícil conseguir o primeiro papel?
Comecei com aulas particulares com a grande mestra, Camila
Amado, o que mantive por anos. Depois passei para aulas em
grupos, também da equipe da Camila. Após fui atrás de um
curso de televisão e vídeo com Antonio Amancio, onde tive
contato com as primeiras câmeras. Também outros workshops
intensivos e rápidos até que me senti pronto para fazer um
teste para oficinas de atores da Globo. Quando fiz, conheci
um produtor de elenco, que perguntou se teria interesse em
fazer um teste para a próxima novela das 18h, pensei, por
que não? Fiz e gostaram. Passei para próxima fase, foi quando
fui ao Projac pela primeira vez. Fiz um teste em um estúdio
de verdade, com a Thaís Fersoza, estava bem nervoso, mas
gostaram também. Passei! O meu planejamento foi todo
alterado, tudo aconteceu mais rápido do que esperava. A
partir daí, nunca questionei essa opção. Decidi me especializar
e trabalhar nessa área, o que faço até hoje e pretendo
continuar fazendo.
Como está sendo fazer seu primeiro protagonista em Cúmplices
de um Resgate? É muita responsabilidade?
Nós atores, operamos na linha de frente, carregamos a responsabilidade
de toda uma engrenagem gigantesca, muita
coisa está por trás. Dar vida a um personagem e mostrar essa
vida na televisão são duas atividades paralelas que temos
que desempenhar. Acho que na minha carreira, as coisas
foram acumulando de uma forma bem gradual, com poucas
exceções. Quando surgiu essa oportunidade, foi exatamente
o que estava precisando. Nunca tive tanto volume de texto,
mas também, nunca fui tão experiente, esse protagonista veio
na hora certa.
Qual a diferença em fazer uma novela para o público infantil?
Quais cuidados deve levar em consideração?
Todas as novelas são feitas para todos os públicos. Essa tem
um público majoritariamente jovem, mas a novela fala com
toda a família. No meu núcleo, acho que estamos mais para os
jovens mais crescidinhos (risos). Fala de amor, compromisso
e romance. O público jovem se envolve mais profundamente
com a história. Tenho me divertido muito nas mídias sociais,
You began on television in 2003. Did you always want to
be an actor?
I’ve always found the idea interesting. However, distant. In the
years prior to my first job, I studied Advertising and had the
intention of becoming a creative director. I started studying
Theatre, as an extracurricular activity, thinking about presentation
and sale projects. I enjoyed it, intensified my studies in
the area and became more involved. At first, I kept it a secret,
few knew of my studies. I didn’t want to raise any expectations.
I’ve always loved television, movies and technology. Along
with the theatre, I began to prepare myself for the cameras.
Was it difficult to get your first part?
I started taking private lessons from a Grandmaster, Camila
Amado, and I kept them up for years. Then, I took group
classes, also with Camila’s team. Afterwards, I took a TV and
video course from Antonio Amancio, where I had my first
contact with the camera. I also participated in other intensive
and short workshops until I felt ready to audition for the Globo
actors workshops. While I was there, I met a casting producer,
who asked if I would have any interest in auditioning for the
next telenovela at six. I thought, why not? I auditioned and
enjoyed it. I went through to the next phase, when I went to
Projac for the first time. I took a test in a real Studio, with Thaís
Fersoza, I was very nervous, but I liked it. I passed the test!
My plans were now all changed, everything happened faster
than I expected. From then on, I have never questioned this
option. I decided to specialize and work in this area, which I
am doing to today and I intend to continue doing.
What was it like to take on your first major role, in Cúmplices
de um Resgate? Did you find it a lot of responsibility?
We actors, always operate on the front line, we carry the responsibility
of an entire gigantic machine, there is a lot behind
the scenes. Giving life to a character and showing that life on
TV are two parallel activities that we have to perform. I think
in my career, things have been accumulating in a very gradual
way, with few exceptions. When this opportunity arose, it was
exactly what I needed. I’ve never had so much text, but also,
I have never been through such an experience, this role came
just at the right time.
What is the difference in making a telenovela for children?
What extra care do you have to take into consideration?
All the telenovelas are made for all audiences. This has a mostly
young audience, but the telenovela speaks to the whole
family. On my set, I think we’re more for young people than
for the grownups (smiling). It speaks of love, commitment
and romance. The young audience becomes more deeply
involved with the story. I have a lot of fun in the social media,
interacting and watching the repercussions. Behind the scenes,
I’ve worked with children, but this time, there are many of all
