Saygılarımla,Hello Dear Readers,In these days that we leave behind one more year with its sorrows and joys andlive the beginning of 2013, I wish that the new year brings beauty to all of us.I thank to our old and new members who do not spare the beautiful wishesand suggestions about our Quarterly. On the other hand, I present a saying ofHerodotus that I love to our friends who try to find a flaw in irrelevant things, but do not have the slightest contribution, on behalf of the whole team of theQuarterly: “It is better to be envied than pitied.”In a few weeks, the intensity of the groups that we call operation groups – whotravel more, visit ruins more, and to whom the tour guides narrate more – willincrease in the Antalya region. And in this period, I would like to share withyou a thought-provoking story.A wise woman traveling in the mountains finds a precious stone in a stream. The next day she meets a passenger who is hungry and opens her bag toshare her food. In the meantime, the hungry passenger sees the preciousstone in the bag, and asks the wise woman to give it to him. The woman fulfills the request without hesitation. The hungry passenger leaves the place joyfully, thinking how fortunate he is. He knows that the stone is preciousenough to provide him a lifetime guarantee. However, a few days later he returns and wishes to return the preciousstone to the wise woman. He says “I kept thinking, I know how precious the stone is, but I brought it back to you hoping that you cangive me something much more valuable,” and tells his wish:“Please give me the thing that makes you give me this stone”...I wish that we can walk altogether to the future in which happiness, love and respect increase by sharing.Best regards,A. Zeki APALI
