Trakyalı Hemşehrimiz: ORPHEUS / Our Thracian Countryman: ORPHEUSaltına gidişlerinde bir paralellikvardır. Hades, Demeter’in kızıPersephone’yi zorla yeraltınakaçırır. Ben, Karadenizormanları, çay, fındık konularınınyanı sıra, Argonautlar’ınKolchis’te altın postu aramayagiderken Argo gemisinde Heraklesgibi yarı tanrıların bilekürek çekmede görev almasınınyanında, Orpheus’a gemininbaş tarafında oturması,onlara gitar çalma, müzik yapmave kürek çekme temposuverme görevinin verildiğini vesonunda Orpheus’un acıklıyaşam öyküsünü anlatıyorum,“Manha de Carnaval” şarkısınısöyleyerek sunumumu bitiriyorum. Persephone and of Orpheus’Eurydice into the underworld.Hades takes Demeter’s daughterPersephone into the undergroundby force. The mothersearches for her daughter witha torch in her hand even inthe underworld, and finds hernear Hades. Then due to thedecision made by the gods,Persephone spends a portionof the year underground andthe other portion here on earth. It is spring-summer while sheis on the earth, and it is winterwhile she is under the ground. After telling of these, I sing Orpheus’sad song before leavingthe temple. Most of the touristsremembering twenty to twentyfive years ago remember boththe Orfe Negro film, and thesong. This pleases me, and Ithink it also pleases the group.Years later we made a field tripto study the Eastern Black Seaand Eastern Anatolia with theStudiosus tour guides. In additionto the subjects of the BlackSea forests, tea and nuts, I toldthat Orpheus was given thetask of sitting at the head of theship, and playing to them onhis guitar, making music andgiving them the pace for rowingto, although even the demigodslike Heracles were involved inrowing the ship called Argowhile the Argonauts were goingto Colchis to search for theGolden Fleece. Finally, I told ofOrpheus’ tragic life story, andI finished my presentation bysinging the song, “Manha deCarnaval.”Again years later, as a resultof a coincidence, I learnedthat the name of the Swisstravel agency of the customerscoming from Istanbul viathe Oktogon travel agencywas Orpheus. Our tour startedfrom Antalya and continued toSilifke, Tarsus, Istanbul, andCappadocia. Its climax wasthe explanation of the Orpheusmythology in front of the TarsusMosaic (Orpheus) in the HatayMuseum to the Orpheus group, and taking the group photo. Finally, let’s get to Antalya;Mrs. Feriha and Mr. Orhan (theowners of the Orfe Farm), ourfriends, our buddies establisha touristic ranch for horses atYenikoy. They gave their farmthe name OR-FE, the first syllablesof their names. First, they were unaware of its meaning. An archaeologist friend oftheirs from the museum toldthem, “Do not ever changethis name, preserve it.” In themeantime, I am also thinkingof making a goodwill gesture.Just as I had the Pan and Syrinxpainting of Rubens and itsmythology designed in the AtaPhotographer’s in Antalya andgiven to the Pinarbasi AlabalikCiftligi (Trout Farm) Restaurantat the Eldere exit of theMeander River as a present, Ialso have the Tarsus Mosaicof Orpheus in Hatay turnedinto a picture in the Ata Photographer’sand write the mythologybeneath it, and give itto the Orfe Farm as a present.Through this, I commemorateour countryman Orpheus bothwith his mosaics and with hislegends.By the way, as a note, let’sbriefly also mention the stringedinstruments and the wind instruments. The inventor of the windinstruments was Pan inMediterranean Mythology. It was Pan who madethe Pan pipes-flute fromthe reeds of the KarakuyuLake, a lake thatwe call Lake Pan, orrather, from Syrinx whohad turned into reeds. The inventor of the stringedinstruments is not Orpheus.Orpheus is the mortal whoplayed the lyre, the ancestorof the stringed instruments, the most skillfully. The Godknown as Hermes made thefirst one. Hermes is portrayedwith a turtle under on his feetin the Hall of Gods in AntalyaMuseum. According to the mythology,Hermes rips out the insideof the turtle, makes stringsfrom the beef intestines, tiesthese to the turtle, and extendsthem. In this way, he makesthe first stringed instrument. The God Apollo says “I am alsothe god of music, so this instrumentshould be mine.”Apollo demands the instrumentfrom Hermes. Hermes says “Iwill give it to you on one condition;if you get me among theGods of Olympus, I will give it toyou.” Apollo is the greatest godin Olympus after Zeus. Whenhe comes to Olympus, all theother Gods and Goddesses riseto their feet. Apollo says “It’sokay.” Hermes is not yet amongthe gods in Olympus and Apollogets him up among the gods.Apollo makes the firstmusic contest in the mythologybetween Panand Marsyas. However,Orpheus is the greatestmaster of the lyre, the guitar, the stringedinstrument, as Apollo’srepresentative amongstthe mortals.Kuzey Kutbundakibuzullarýn,20 yýl içinde yokolabileceðini biliyormuydunuz?
