Qiblawi recalled the market situation during the decline
in prices and how “MARCAP” managed to overcome the
market challenges. He said, "The period between 2009
and 2013 was the golden days of the oil and gas industry,
where prices was above $120 for the oil barrel. Revenues
were high and profits were satisfactory, which made many
of the companies ignore the need to optimize operational
expenses and implement efficient workflows. When the
prices suddenly dropped below $30, it was a shock and
many companies couldn’t handle this severe decline and
shut down their businesses."
Qiblawi highlighted, "Luckly, and based on our deep understanding
of the market cyclical dynamics. Our management
was not blinded by the glow of the golden days
and it took a balanced growth approach and allocated a
proper budget seeking to strengthen the company's governance,
develop its internal systems and empowering its
employees. We obtained many ISO certificate to improve
our excellence model in operational workflow and project
management. MARCAP now has obtained certificates for
OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety),
ISO 14001:2015 (Environment) and upgrade its Quality
Certificate ISO 9001:2015 from Bereu Varitas.”
