Cambridge Certificates
Special counselling sessions for
the Cambridge English Language
Assessment examination courses will
be held in Justus-Liebig-Haus
(2nd floor) on the following dates:
Thursday, 20 Feb. 16:00–19:00
Saturday, 22 Feb. 11:00–13:00
Thursday, 27 Feb. 16:00–19:00
An individual counselling session is
required prior to enrolment in order
to assess the appropriate language
level. New enrolments will not be accepted
otherwise. Those participants
carrying on from last term require
only to fill in the number of their last
CEF (Cambridge English First), IELTS
(International English Testing System)
or CEP (Cambridge English Proficien -
cy) course on their enrolment card.
Pre-registration for the counselling
sessions is not necessary.
2013 was the 100th anniversary of
Cambridge English exams. Coinciding
with this important milestone,
the name of the examining body was
changed from University of Cambridge
ESOL Examinations to Cambridge
English Languge Assessment.
In addition, the exams have also
taken on new names as seen above.
Recognition
Many employers around the world
recognise the language certificates
of the Cambridge English Language
Assessment as proof of the holder’s
ability to cope linguistically in a wide
range of situations. See the following

as an indication of an individual’s

The CEF is an intermediate level examination
at B2 level and is geared
towards candidates who want to take
it for a variety of reasons: as an aid
to gaining employment, to help in
further studies or out of personal
interest.
Participation in two successive
courses is strongly advised before
taking the CEF exam.
