Ich bin sehr erleichtert! Allerdings haben wir jetzt so lange auf das
Diplom hingearbeitet, dass es jetzt komisch ist, dass das Studium
schon vorbei sein soll. Und leider geht ja auch ein toller
Lebensabschnitt zu Ende.

Ich würde mich jederzeit wieder für die ebs entscheiden. Gerade das
Auslandsjahr hat für das harte Grundstudium entschädigt! Die letzten
zwei Jahre haben mich auch am stärksten geprägt; mit dem
Auslandsjahr verbinde ich viele tolle Erlebnisse, das letzte Jahr an der
ebs war inhaltlich am interessantesten.

Erstmal ausgiebig verreisen! Im September trete ich dann in München
meinen ersten Job bei Deloitte & Touche an. Den Wunsch in die Wirtschaftsprüfung
einzusteigen, habe ich erst seit meinem letzten
Praktikum. Dass ich im Bereich Finanzen arbeiten möchte, stand
allerdings schon lange für mich fest. Und die Arbeit in der Prüfung ist
sehr vielseitig, was mir
vor dem Praktikum
nicht klar war. Ein
besonderes Motto habe
ich nicht, aber ich bin
sehr gespannt, was die
Zukunft für mich bringt!

I’m really relieved! However, we’ve been working towards our
graduation for so long now, it’s a strange feeling that our degree
course is already over. And unfortunately it’s also the end of a great
phase in our lives.

I would come back to the ebs any time. The year abroad made up for
the first four terms at the ebs which were tough. The last two years
gained the greatest influence on me; I had some fantastic
experiences during my year abroad and the last year was the most
interesting in terms of course content.

First of all I want to do lots of travelling! In September I’m starting my
first job with Deloitte & Touche in Munich. I became interested in
working in auditing during my last internship. However, I had known
for a long time that I wanted to work in finance. Auditing work is
enormously varied, which is something I wasn’t aware of before my
internship. I don’t have a special motto, but am keen to see what the
future holds for me!

Ein wirklich seltsames
Gefühl, einerseits eine
unglaubliche Erleichterung
und Freude
endlich fertig zu sein.
Und andererseits das
Wissen, dass eine tolle
Zeit vorbei ist und sich
die Wege vieler jetzt
trennen.

Rückblickend kann ich
sagen: Ich habe meine
Entscheidung für die
ebs keine Sekunde
bereut, das Studium
war alles in allem eine sehr gute Erfahrung. Inhaltlich am meisten
gelernt habe ich sicherlich in den Finance-Vorlesungen im 7. und 8.
Semester, menschlich und im Soft Skill-Bereich mehr in der
Ressortarbeit im ersten Jahr und in meinen beiden Amtszeiten als
Studenten-sprecher. Die nachhaltigste Prägung hat meine Persönlichkeit
allerdings ganz klar durch das Auslandsstudium in Mexiko
und den USA erhalten, dies war auch einfach die schönste und unvergesslichste
Zeit.

Ich werde zum Wintersemester ein Promotionsstudium an der ebs
beginnen, und zwar als interner Doktorand bei Professor Johanning.
Thematisch wird die Dissertation sich demnach um Finance bzw.
speziell Asset Management drehen. Mit der Idee zu promovieren habe
ich zwar schon länger gespielt, so richtig herauskristallisiert hat sich
das allerdings erst im letzten halben Jahr, als ich mir konkretere
Gedanken über meine verschiedenen Job-Optionen gemacht habe.
Dementsprechend ist meine Einstellung für die Zukunft selbstredend:
„Man lernt nie aus“.

It’s a really odd feeling, on the one hand, a huge sense of relief and
joy to be finished. And on the other hand the knowledge, that it’s also
the end of a great time in my life and that a lot of us will go different
ways from here.

Looking back on my time at the ebs, I can say one thing: I have never
regretted my decision to come here. My studies were all in all a very
good experience. In terms of content, I ‘m sure I learnt the most in the
finance lectures in terms 7 and 8. I learnt more personally and
developed my soft skills through my involvement in the student
associations during my first year and in my role as student
representative for two terms. Nevertheless, the most lasting influence
on my personality has been the year abroad in Mexico and the USA.
I had a fantastic and unforgettable time.

In the winter term, I’ m starting to study towards a Ph.D. at the ebs
as internal doctoral student with Professor Johanning. My dissertation
will focus on finance, or more specifically, asset management. I had
been thinking about doing a doctorate for a long time, but my plans
only really began to take shape during the last six months when I
started considering the various job options available to me more
seriously. Consequently, my attitude for the future is of course: “You
never stop learning“.
