(MPV) zur Marke BMW passt, ging es weiter ins BMW Museum. Dort wurden die<br />
Studenten von dem Leiter Zentrales Marketing und Markenführung, Torsten Müller-<br />
Oetvoes, sowie dem designierten Chef von Rolls-Royce, Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, zur<br />
gemeinsamen Besichtigung in Empfang genommen.<br />
Abgerundet wurde das Blockseminar „Maex 04“ mit einem Besuch bei der Siemens<br />
AG. Nach der Begrüßung und Vorstellung des Unternehmens standen Workshops<br />
<strong>zum</strong> Thema „Marketing Perspectives“ im Mittelpunkt. Dabei wurde u.a. über die<br />
Möglichkeiten einer internationalen Preisdifferenzierung für Handys diskutiert. Zum<br />
Abschluss der Exkursion ließ man den Tag passend <strong>zum</strong> Beginn der Starkbierzeit im<br />
Paulaner am Nockherberg gemütlich ausklingen.<br />
Ein Einblick in die Werbung…<br />
... wurde ausgewählten Studenten des Wahlpflichtfaches „Marktorientierte<br />
Unternehmensführung“ am 30. April geboten. Grey Worldwide hatte zu einem ganztägigen<br />
Workshop <strong>zum</strong> Themenbereich Marketingkommunikation nach Düsseldorf<br />
geladen. Nach einer kurzen Begrüßung durch Michael Hundt, CEO Deutschland, und<br />
Alina Kessel, Geschäftsführerin im Hause Grey, hatten Studenten des vierten<br />
Semesters der ebs die Gelegenheit, in Gruppen gemeinsam mit Auszubildenden von<br />
Grey an verschiedenen konkreten Fragestellungen zu arbeiten. Für die<br />
Umpositionierung einer weltweiten Marke wurde zunächst die <strong>bis</strong>her verfolgte<br />
Strategie kritisch hinterfragt, um darauf aufbauend modifizierte oder völlig neue<br />
Handlungsempfehlungen im Plenum präsentieren und diskutieren zu können.<br />
Erfolg für ebs-Teams bei<br />
L'ORÉAL eStrat Challenge<br />
Das Deutschlandfinale des L'ORÉAL eStrat Challenge, das am 6. April in Düsseldorf<br />
stattfand, konnte das ebs Team „Haarlack“, bestehend aus Kim Lippert, Benjamin<br />
Altmüller und Marius Maumeister für sich entscheiden. Im Finale setzten sie sich bei<br />
der Präsentation ihres Business Plans gegen sieben weitere Teams durch und<br />
können sich jetzt über eine Einladung <strong>zum</strong> internationalen Finale in Paris freuen.<br />
Dem Finale war eine zweimonatige Bearbeitungsphase vorausgegangen, in der die<br />
einzelnen Teams in die Rolle von Unternehmern schlüpften und ihr Unternehmen<br />
bzw. ihre Produkte über verschiedene Runden hinweg erfolgreich am Markt<br />
positionieren mussten. Neben dem Siegerteam „Haarlack“ konnte ein weiteres ebs<br />
Team die Jury überzeugen. Sascha Becker, Kai Römmelt und Carl Windfuhr, die als<br />
Team „N<strong>of</strong>retete“ an den Start gegangen waren, erreichten einen sehr guten dritten<br />
Platz und rundeten so den Erfolg der ebs ab.<br />

The block seminar “Maex 04” concluded with a visit to Siemens AG. Following a<br />
welcome speech and an introduction to the company, the focus was on workshops<br />
on the subject <strong>of</strong> “Marketing Perspectives”. Among other aspects, this involved a discussion<br />
on the potential for differential international pricing for mobile phones. When<br />
the visit ended, the day was rounded <strong>of</strong>f with a convivial beer at the Paulaner<br />
Bierkeller on Nockherberg (after all, it was the start <strong>of</strong> the Starkbier festival).<br />
An insight into the world<br />
<strong>of</strong> advertising<br />
On 30 April, selected students taking the compulsory option “Market-orientated<br />
Corporate Management” were <strong>of</strong>fered an insight into the world <strong>of</strong> advertising. Grey<br />
Worldwide had invited students to attend a day-long workshop in Düsseldorf on the<br />
subject <strong>of</strong> marketing communications. Following a brief welcome speech by Michael<br />
Hundt, CEO Germany, and Alina Kessel, Managing Director <strong>of</strong> Grey, fourth-semester<br />
ebs students were given the opportunity to tackle a number <strong>of</strong> concrete problems<br />
alongside Grey trainees. In order to reposition a global brand, students undertook a<br />
critical analysis <strong>of</strong> the strategy pursued to date. This analysis was then used as the<br />
basis for recommendations for modifications or a completely new strategy which<br />
were presented and discussed in the plenary session.<br />
Success for ebs teams in the<br />
L'ORÉAL eStrat Challenge<br />
The German final <strong>of</strong> the L'ORÉAL eStrat Challenge, which took place in Düsseldorf<br />
on 6 April, was won by ebs team “Haarlack”, consisting <strong>of</strong> Kim Lippert, Benjamin<br />
Altmüller and Marius Maumeister. Their business plan presentation beat those <strong>of</strong><br />
seven other teams, winning them the opportunity to compete in the international final<br />
in Paris.<br />
The final was preceded by a two-month project stage during which the different<br />
teams had to assume the role <strong>of</strong> companies. In a series <strong>of</strong> different rounds, the<br />
teams were required to successfully position their companies/products in the<br />
marketplace. In addition to the winners “Haarlack”, another ebs team also<br />
impressed the jury. Sascha Becker, Kai Römmelt and Carl Windfuhr, who had entered<br />
the competition under the team name “N<strong>of</strong>retete”, achieved an impressive third<br />
place, thus rounding <strong>of</strong>f ebs’ success.<br />
