But the good lifestyle has also added a few<br />

extra pounds over the years. And often the body<br />

can no longer keep up with the ever-so-youthful<br />

spirit. Ten years ago, you’d hit the gym and<br />

not think twice about how much you sweat. But<br />

now taking the stairs to the third floor is getting<br />

harder and harder and you don’t even think<br />

about cycling to work anymore. In short: your<br />

fitness level is poor. But where is the problem?<br />

Why not just pick up training again!<br />

AFTER THE WILD YEARS<br />

There are a few things to keep in mind when<br />

training at forty. The young, “wild” years have left<br />

their mark and nothing works like it did at thirty.<br />

Therefore, you should train according to your age<br />

on the way to your dream body. What does that<br />

mean for your everyday training? What do you have<br />

to consider and how can you start training without<br />

problems?<br />

PERSEVERE AND HAVE FUN<br />

Keeping up with good resolutions is an ongoing issue; a constant<br />

struggle for the will to change and keep your self-motivation.<br />

After a strenuous day at work, all you want is rest and relaxation--<br />

and that is sometimes necessary. Fortunately, many discover after<br />

a short time that exercise is an excellent outlet for stress and<br />

anger. The more you exercise, the more calories will be burned<br />

and stress will be reduced. A healthy, agile body gives you serenity<br />

and self-confidence. But with all your zeal and will to get fit again,<br />

don‘t forget your family and friends. Try to integrate them into your<br />

“new”, more active life. Often people in your personal environment<br />

struggle just like you. Don’t exclude them from your journey.<br />

Finally, something very<br />

important. Be patient with<br />

your body and its transformation!<br />

It will take a while<br />

before you can see the first<br />

results in the mirror. There<br />

will be days when you find it<br />

difficult to motivate yourself.<br />

But keep at it and it will pay<br />

off. And one thing is for sure,<br />

from the first day of training,<br />

even if it can be very exhausting<br />

and hard, your body will<br />

thank you for putting in the<br />
