I.A. Natural Communities
� Staff access is difficult in parts of the park, which presents limitation to managing some areas;
access should be pursued through land acquisition.
� Pyrogenic natural communities are on the threshold. More fire is needed more frequently.
� Need more aggressive burn program.
I.B. Listed Species
� Needs comprehensive surveys done for animals.
� Overall inventory.
� Please do wildlife surveys (esp. Black Bears) before recreation infrastructure development
continues.
I.C. Natural Resources Survey
� Need photo point monitoring in habitats actively managed. Need some sort of quantitative analysis
and record of habitat parameters. (Esp. in fire managed communities).
� Place emphasis on wildlife surveys (esp. Black Bear home range mapping prior to recording
infrastructure development).
II.A.B. Cultural Resources
� Comprehensive survey needs to be done.
III.A. Resource Management
� Burn program is still new.
� Inadequate review internal is being realized on sites that have remnant species left. Burn program
needs to focus energy on areas close to being overgrown with hardwoods.
� Need more aggressive burn program. Not enough pine to simply needle cast to carry fire.
IV. Public Access & Education
� Without considering hunting as a recreational opportunity for this property, it is difficult to rate
and record. Number four above is partially sufficient. This property is more than adequate for
such.
� Please manage visitor impacts (esp. horses and hikers) are consistent with wildlife corridor
management (i.e. Purpose of acquisition).
V. Infrastructure/Management Resources
� Fencing needs to be completed.
� Need equipment, storage facility. Biological staff is needed (to assess bear and other wildlife
needs).
VI. Managed Area Uses
� Equestrian use will be once other parcels are acquired in the project.
� Complete wildlife surveys before allowing overnight use of property for camping.
