This building also houses an indoor shooting range. It is certifi ed and<br />

licensed for target shooting handguns and 22 rim fi re rifl es. Supervised<br />

“handgun shoots” are held Thursday evenings 7 to 10 p.m. For more<br />

information call Jim at 446-0407 or Kevin at 445-5680.<br />

Hunter Education and Firearm Safety courses are held in September<br />

and January. Each course lasts approximately six weeks. Classes are<br />

taught Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. To register call Galen<br />

Loy 937-7734 or pick up application at Ministry of Environment<br />

offi ce.<br />

Supper meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at<br />

7:00 p.m., except July and August, at the <strong>Battlefords</strong> Wildlife Federation<br />

Chautauqua Canine Club<br />

Formed in early 1986, the members of the Chautauqua Canine Club<br />

are dedicated to the promotion and betterment of purebred dogs and<br />

canines in general. Activities of the club include Canadian Kennel Club<br />

sanctioned conformation shows and obedience trials and the sharing of<br />

knowledge about showing and breeding registered dogs.<br />

The club also provides demonstrations and short seminars on dogs<br />

and their care, free of charge to schools and organizations. The annual<br />

championship dog show is held the second weekend of April.<br />

Meetings are held at the call of the chairman.<br />

Historic Archives<br />

Motto: To Preserve the History of North Battleford and the<br />

History of its Citizens”<br />

In 1989, the Council of the City of North Battleford authorized the<br />

formation of a Committee to develop and oversee the North Battleford<br />

City Archives. The Committee is now referred to as the City of North<br />

Battleford Historic Archives to better refl ect the historic content of its<br />

holdings and its mandate.<br />

The City of North Battleford Historic Archives Committee is appointed<br />

by Council holding regular meetings throughout the year. A maximum<br />
