Area MADD Chapter<br />
Purpose: To stop impaired driving and support victims of this violent<br />
crime.<br />
<strong>Battlefords</strong> and Area MADD Chapter meets the second Monday of<br />
the month at 7:00 p.m. at the North Battleford Comprehensive High<br />
School Library.<br />

Boys and Girls Club Inc.<br />
We are a non-profit, charitable organization providing for the<br />
recreational, cultural, educational and social needs of all children and<br />
youth 6 - 14 years of age in our community. We provide a “Safe Place”<br />
allowing kids to be kids. Youth are always supervised and kept busy,<br />
and we have Zero Tolerance for bullying and abuse.<br />
Every day is an adventure and there is never a dull moment around<br />
the Club. Program hours of operation run six days per week, during<br />
the afternoon, evenings and weekends. All programs focus on offering<br />
activities that refl ect the social, educational, cultural and recreational<br />
goals of our agency and our community.<br />
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday - RBC after-school<br />
program - 2:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Evening drop in program - 6:00 p.m.<br />
- 9:00 p.m. Weekends - Saturdays 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.<br />

Learning For All<br />
Living Sky School Division is a public school division that<br />
includes the <strong>Battlefords</strong>, many communities, villages,<br />
First Nation communities and Hutterite Colonies.<br />
Currently, thirty-one schools are located in nineteen<br />
communities. Our schools include K-12, Elementary, High<br />
School and Alternate Schools with a student population of<br />
5,700. Our diverse school population is re ected in a wide<br />
variety of programs that exist throughout the schools to meet<br />
the guidelines of Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and local<br />
needs of the community.<br />

All programs operate on a drop-in basis and following up to three<br />
introductory visits, a membership is required. Memberships are<br />
$5.00 per year or $10.00 per year for families. For further information<br />
regarding our Club, our programming hours and activities, volunteer<br />

<strong>Battlefords</strong> Chapter of<br />
The Multiple Sclerosis Society<br />
The <strong>Battlefords</strong> Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society<br />
was organized in September of 1977. The meetings are now held at<br />
7:00 p.m. the River Heights Lodge in North Battleford on the<br />
third Thursday of each month except May, June, July, August and<br />
December.<br />
The Chapter raises funds for research with sales of Christmas cakes<br />
and other Christmas items, the M.S. Walk, carnation sales at Mother’s<br />
day and raffl es.<br />
The chapter also holds socials at various times of the year.<br />
Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings, and we are always looking<br />
for new members and volunteers.<br />

<strong>Battlefords</strong> Concern for Youth<br />
Battleford’s Concern For Youth is a non-profit community<br />
based organization that began in May, 1989. Outreach workers<br />
work with all youth and their families in the City of North Battleford,<br />
Town of Battleford, and the surrounding area and also work<br />
collaboratively with all agencies in the Battleford’s.<br />
Concern For Youth’s mission is:<br />
• Use a proactive approach to assist youth in making responsible<br />
decisions.<br />
• To identify the needs of youth.<br />
• To act as a liaison between youth and community programming.<br />
• To raise the profi le of youth issues in the community.<br />
The primary objective of outreach workers is to locate, interact,<br />
and connect with youth at risk and their families and make referrals<br />
to social and community agencies that can provide them with<br />
programs and services. Outreach workers also provide the following<br />
services:<br />
• Home visits<br />
• School visits<br />
• Personal and Family support<br />
• Will attend any meetings with youth e.g. Court, doctor,<br />
counselor, etc.<br />
• Assistance with any forms<br />
• Recreational Services e.g. A friend to play basketball with, etc.<br />
• Positive role model for youth<br />
• Act as a liaison and mediator<br />
• Ensure youth are safe<br />
• Empower youth to make safe, positive, healthy, and responsible<br />
decisions<br />
