VOLUNTEER & SPIRITUAL SERVICES<br />

Volunteer & Spiritual Services is a Regional program which serves<br />

as a resource for those who work with volunteers throughout Prairie<br />

North facilities and programs. Volunteer & Spiritual Services coordinates<br />

volunteer-based programs at PNHR health services in The <strong>Battlefords</strong><br />

and works in partnership to support Faith Communities, Auxiliaries<br />

and Foundations.<br />

St John Ambulance is a non- profi t, charitable organization that is<br />

over 900 years old.<br />

Mission Statement: To enable Canadians to improve their health,<br />

safety and quality of life by providing training and community<br />

service. We carry out our mission through community service, fi rst<br />

aid and CPR training.<br />

We provide high quality training by knowledgeable and experienced<br />

instructors in First Aid/CPR/AED, Medical First Responder/Emergency<br />

Medical Responder, Wilderness First Aid, Babysitting, Instructor,<br />

WHIMIS and Personal Care Worker courses.<br />

St. John Ambulance carries all your fi rst aid supply needs. Everything<br />

from bandages to Automated External Defi brillators. During courses,<br />

students receive a 10% discount of fi rst aid kits and CPR barrier<br />

devices.<br />

Our volunteer Medical First Responder Unit provides first aid<br />

coverage and support services at public events where our presence<br />

is requested. To apply to be a MFR volunteer, you must have a current<br />

SJA Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifi cate, as well you<br />

would need to have a criminal record check done. Once approved,<br />

we ask you to commit 60 hours of service and training within our<br />

community. On-going Medical First Responder training would be<br />

provided for you.<br />
