Through responsible stewardship of community contributions and volunteer resources, BUH Foundation is dedicated to enriching patient care by supporting the funding of capital, non-capital equipment and staff education at BUH and Battlefords Home Care. This is made possible through the on-going contributions of the community and by the four major fundraisers held annually. The Monthly Lottery runs year around with cash prizes totalling $50,000; Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament takes place the fi rst Monday in June and is dedicated to Wayne Pruden, a long-term resident of the Battlefords and an outstanding member of the community; $100,000 Cash Lottery runs from August to November every year and awards numerous cash prizes; Festival of Trees, held the end of November, is a Christmas celebration of beautifully decorated Christmas items as well as specifi c events related to the Christmas theme. The medical equipment that BUH Foundation has helped to purchase through on going community support includes: equipment for the Operating Room, Medical Imaging, Chemotherapy, Intensive Care Unit and Palliative Care; monitoring systems for the Emergency Room, Women’s Health GUY’S and Birthing Centre and equipment for the Laboratory.
