The Western Development Museum is steeped in the farming tradition.
In the summer, our visitors can experience Heritage Farm & Village,
set amid a 1920s farming community. Stroll our boardwalk to enjoy a
1920s main street that includes a Co-op store, telephone offi ce and a
towering prairie icon - the familiar grain elevator. Visit a farmyard that
boasts an original farm house and livestock barn. Admire the ethereal
beauty of four churches in their original splendor: Ukrainian Orthodox,
Polish, Roman Catholic and Anglican.
Indoors, Museum visitors can enjoy our newest exhibit, Winning
the Prairie Gamble: The Saskatchewan Story. Created to celebrate our
provincial centennial in 2005, the exhibit showcases the achievements
that have made Saskatchewan the province it is today. Don’t miss other
indoor exhibits including The Jolly Life of the Farmer’s Wife, the
Vintage Vehicle gallery and Auction Era.
