Battlefords Union Hospital
An 91-bed acute care facility including 24-hour emergency service;
intensive care; medical (adult & pediatric), surgical, and obstetrical/
gynaecological care; women’s health and birthing services; laboratory,
diagnostic imaging (x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, and CT scanning),
pharmacy, and dietary services; palliative care; renal dialysis service;
inpatient acute psychiatric care; physiotherapy, occupational therapy and
respiratory therapy services; cardiac stress testing; specialist outpatient
clinics; discharge planning services; chemotherapy outreach Program
and First Nation liaison services.

AMBULANCE / PRE- HOSPITAL EMERGENCY CARE
WPD Ambulance
Contracted by the Health Region, WPD Ambulance provides advanced
and basic pre-hospital emergency care to those who require medical
assistance. WPD is staffed by a team of highly trained paramedics and
emergency medical technicians, and is further enhanced by a network
of approximately 43 trained First Responders

CONTINUING (LONG-TERM) CARE
Battlefords District Care Centre
A 117-bed long-term care facility including fi ve short-term non-acute
care beds for respite, assessment, rehabilitation, and convalescent care;
and a 28-bed specialized dementia care unit. BDCC also offers an
extensive recreation program for its residents, along with physiotherapy
and social work services.

Lady Minto Health Care Center, Edam
A 20-bed integrated care facility with a community day program and
Meals-On-Wheels service, visiting physiotherapy services and visiting
public health nursing services. A physician clinic operates at LMHCC,
along with lab and x-ray services.
