Beta Sigma Phi
Beta Sigma Phi is a non-academic international women’s friendship
network which provides educational programs to its members and
opportunities for service to others. Known around the world as “The
Friendship Organization”, we are women of all ages, interests,
educational and economic backgrounds, the largest organization of its
kind in the world.
Beta Sigma Phi chapters exist in every Canadian province, every
American state, and in 30 other countries. Members in four chapters
support the arts in and around the Battlefords and District.
In the 81 years since its founding, membership in Beta Sigma Phi
has provided opportunities to contribute to the community, to develop
lifelong friendships, and to polish leadership skills. Now in the 21st
Century, our members fi nd the more we grow, the more valuable we
become to each other and to our communities.

The Catholic Women’s
League of Canada
The Catholic Women’s League was organized nationally June 17,
1920. It is the largest national organization of Catholic women in Canada
and our motto is “For God and Canada.”
The goals of the league are:
• To achieve individual and collective spiritual development;
• promote the teachings of the Catholic Church;
• exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life;
• protect the sanctity of human life;
• enhance the role of women in church and society;
• recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere;
• uphold & defend Christian education & values in the modern world;
• contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom,
social justice, peace and harmony.
Meetings are held the fi rst Tuesday of each month from September
to June in St. Joseph, Notre Dame and St. Vital.

Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP)
Volunteers work in conjunction with the Battlefords RCMP to serve as “eyes”
and “ears” in the prevention of mischief and crime to make the Battlefords a
secure place in which to live. Volunteers must be 19 years of age, pass an RCMP
security check, have a valid driver’s licence, provide their own vehicle.
Meetings are the fi rst Tuesday of the month at the RCMP Detachment at
19:30 (7:30) p.m. Holiday months are July and August
The C.O.P. Program is run by an elected board and an RCMP Liaison
Offi cer.
Pick up an application at the RCMP Detachment, 1052 - 101st Street,
complete the application, return to the detachment. Upon passing a security
check, you will be contacted by the RCMP or a COP Executive member.
The Historic Battleford Lions Club
Our club was chartered in 1976 and our Motto as Lions is “We Serve”.
We provide an environment for fellowship and work together in
support of local projects and events that help to make our community
and environment a good place to be.
Our fundraising efforts assist with local community activities as well
as provide support for organizations that deal with such things as Sight,
Diabetes, The Elderly, Youth, Culture, Sports and Recreation. We also
participate in projects and events supported by Lions International and
Lions Foundation of Canada.
We hold supper meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
starting at 6:30 PM with a recess from meetings for the months of July
and August.
