Battlefords Alzheimer
Support Group
Alzheimer Disease is progressive and degenerative. There is no
known cause or cure.
Alzheimer Disease is the leading cause of dementia, a set of
symptoms that includes a loss of memory, judgment and reasoning, and
changes in mood and behaviour. Alzheimer Disease is not a normal
part of aging.
Often those who care for their affl icted loved ones feel isolated and
unsupported. The Battlefords formed a support group for caregivers
in 1982.
Our support group allows participants to learn more about providing
care, to share their feelings, and exchange ideas on how to love and care
for people with Alzheimer Disease.
