First to introduce to the medium price field a motor car of<br />

unquestioned prestige without a compromise in quality. First<br />

high price car to offer Hydra-Matic, the completely automatic<br />

transmission that eliminates the clutch pedal and all gear shifting.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> outsold all makes of cars in both the Medium and High<br />

Price Groups.<br />

Presentation of the Fortieth Anniversary <strong>Cadillac</strong>s. Introduction<br />

of sealed, ribbed Super-Safe Brakes and All-Weather Ventilation<br />

System.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong>-built light tanks and motor carriages contributed<br />

immeasurably to the struggle for victory and peace. Precision<br />

aircraft engine parts made by <strong>Cadillac</strong> helped power America's<br />

leading combat planes. Army-Navy "E" award to <strong>Cadillac</strong> for<br />

excellence in production of war equipment.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> produced the M-24, one of the world's fastest and most<br />

maneuverable combat vehicles of its kind. This famous light tank,<br />

which served on all battlefronts, was powered by <strong>Cadillac</strong><br />

V-type engines and <strong>Cadillac</strong> Hydra-Matic Transmissions.<br />

Continued production of the world-famous M-24 light tank for<br />

distinguished use in European and Pacific theaters. Introduction<br />

of the M-19, a potent anti-aircraft gun motor carriage.<br />
