CADILLAC 12-VOLT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> advanced 12-volt electrical system, introduced in<br />

1953, has been further refined in <strong>1954</strong>. It provides even surer<br />

and more positive starting in cold or wet weather; it delivers<br />

consistent high voltage to the spark plugs for maximum<br />

engine performance with minimum re-setting of spark plug<br />

gaps; and it provides extra reserves of electrical energy for<br />

every lighting or accessory requirement.<br />

NEW 12-VOLT BATTERY<br />

A new 12-volt battery especially designed to provide best<br />

performance with other units in the 12-volt electrical system<br />

has been provided in <strong>1954</strong>. Improved battery sealing minimizes<br />

any likelihood of corrosion. In addition, a new vinylbase<br />

paint on the battery cover protects it from corrosive<br />

damage caused by accidental spilling of battery acids.<br />
