3. Water Quality Analysis – possible focus areas include, but
are not limited to, pH, NH3, NO2, and Dissolved Oxygen.
4. Aquatic System Design & Troubleshooting – possible focus
areas include, but are not limited to, filtration, pumps,
sterilization, and system design.
5. Identification & Treatment of Disease, Pests, and Predators
– students will be asked to positively identify diseases,
pests, and/or predators. In addition, students will be asked
to identify or explain possible treatments and/or solutions
related to the problem identified.
Scoring
Only the top three individual scores and the team activity will be
counted towards the total team score.

Individual Problem Solving Practicums (100 ea) 300
Total 800
Tie Breakers
In the event of a team or individual score, the contest
coordinator will break the tie in the following manner: team tie
broken by highest drop score, then by team activity. Individual
ties broken by exam score, then by species identification.
Awards
Awards will be presented at an awards ceremony. Awards are
presented to teams as well as individuals based upon their
rankings. Awards are sponsored by a cooperating industry
sponsor(s) as a special project and/or by the general fund of the
Florida FFA Foundation.
