Suggested activities<br />

Use the visuals <strong>for</strong>:<br />

Note!<br />

Exploring a specific area of vocabulary through ‘point <strong>and</strong> name’.<br />

Exp<strong>and</strong>ing vocabulary – move from the pictures to familiar objects.<br />

Describing – include prepositions <strong>for</strong> location (over, beside, next to, etc.).<br />

Colouring (larger pictures) <strong>and</strong> naming colours.<br />

Counting the number of objects, people, animals, etc.<br />

Time – put h<strong>and</strong>s on the blank clocks.<br />

Telling the story of the picture.<br />

Expressing personal likes <strong>and</strong> dislikes.<br />

Picture bingo.<br />

Spot the difference – see below.<br />

The pictures on pages 137-140 can be used <strong>for</strong> ‘spot the difference’, an in<strong>for</strong>mation gap activity which<br />

is excellent <strong>for</strong> speaking <strong>and</strong> describing in pairs.<br />

Method<br />

1. Photocopy the pictures.<br />

2. One pupil has one picture only.<br />

3. The second pupil has two pictures.<br />
