Method<br />

In turn pupils pick two cards <strong>and</strong> put them on the table. When they notice matching words <strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong><br />

Resources Selection of picture or word cards familiar to pupils.<br />
Method<br />
Each pupil picks three cards <strong>and</strong> explains how the pictures are connected.<br />
Note! Use word cards with older children. Ask them to write three sentences connecting the words.<br />
Memory game (picture/word recognition, learning vocabulary – matching)<br />
Suitable <strong>for</strong> Young pupils <strong>and</strong> older pupils with low proficiency level.<br />
Resources Two sets of cards (pictures, words or mixed).<br />
Method<br />
Place all the cards face down.<br />
Pupils turn two cards over in turn.<br />
Pupils say the words as they are turned over. The aim is to find matching pairs.<br />
Note! Extend the activity by asking pupils to say something about each picture/word.<br />

Resources Picture or word cards associated with actions (eyes, bus, animals, boat, etc.).<br />
Method<br />
Each pupil picks a card in turn.<br />
Teacher asks questions, <strong>for</strong> example, “We travel in a bus, what other ways do we travel?”<br />
All pupils contribute the words they know (e.g. walk, cycle, fly, etc.).<br />
