hold again, and fet out on his third Race, with Mr. Church<br />

and running thro' a Swamp that was covered with hollow<br />

Ice, it made fo loud a noife that Mr. Church expected (but<br />

in vain) that fome <strong>of</strong> his Englifli friends would follow the<br />

run a-thwart a mighty Tree that lay fallen near breaft-<br />

twilling to break his Neck; but tho' Mr. Churches wounds<br />

had fome-what weakned him, and the Indian a ftout fel-<br />

low, yet he held him well in play, and twilled the Indians<br />

Neck as well, and took the advantage <strong>of</strong> many opportu-<br />

nities, while they hung by each others hair gave him<br />

notorious bunts in the face with his head. But in the heat<br />

<strong>of</strong> this skuffle they heard the Ice break with fome bodies<br />

coming a-pace to them, which when they heard, Church<br />

concluded there was help for one or other <strong>of</strong> them, but<br />

was doubtful which <strong>of</strong> them mull now receive the fatal<br />

ftroke; anon fome body comes up to them, who prov'd to<br />
