reached Swanfey on the afternoon <strong>of</strong><br />
Tuefday, 22 June, or, at furtheft, on<br />
Wednefday, 23 June ; while the firft <strong>of</strong><br />
the Maffachufetts forces left B<strong>of</strong>ton on<br />
Saturday, 26 June, and all <strong>of</strong> them ar-<br />

4U <strong>The</strong> Maffachufetts forces, on this<br />
occafion, confifted <strong>of</strong> a troop <strong>of</strong> horfe<br />
under Capt. Thomas Prentice, one <strong>of</strong><br />
foot under Capt. Daniel Henchman,<br />
and one hundred and ten "volunteers"<br />
under Capt. Samuel M<strong>of</strong>ley. Money<br />
had been a "Privateer at Jamaica,"<br />
and his "volunteers" included ten or<br />
twelve pirates under fentence <strong>of</strong> death,<br />
who were taken out <strong>of</strong> jail to join the<br />
command, and promifed life on good<br />
behavior. Three Chriftian Indians —<br />
James and Thomas Quannapohutt and<br />
Zeckary Abram — were attached to<br />
Capt. Prentice's troop as guides. Sev-<br />
eral dogs — to be ufed in hunting the<br />
