the Year 1674, Mr. Benjamin Church <strong>of</strong> Duxbury 2<br />

being providentially at Plymouth in the time <strong>of</strong> the<br />

fell into acquaintance with Capt. John<br />

Almy* <strong>of</strong> Rhode-IJland. Capt. Almy with great im-<br />

portunity invited him to ride with him, and view<br />

that part <strong>of</strong> Plymouth Colony that lay next to Rhode-IJland,<br />

Plymouth and Awafhonks, Squaw-<br />

Sachem <strong>of</strong> Sogkonate ; 14 June, 1676,<br />

was appointed, with Mr. Thomas Bor-<br />

den, to take an inventory <strong>of</strong> goods <strong>of</strong><br />

Thomas Lawton ; died before Nov.<br />

1676, at which time Plymouth Court<br />

gave his widow power to adminifter on<br />

his eftate within the Colony jurifdidtion.<br />
