Material aggregate furnished for mix designs shall be representative <strong>of</strong> the source(s) and<br />

sampled from the materials stockpiles to be utilized in asphaltic concrete production. Mix<br />

designs shall be performed utilizing mineral aggregate which conforms to the grading limits<br />

in Table 414-1.<br />

Mineral aggregate shall conform to the requirements in Table 414-2 when tested in<br />

accordance with the applicable test methods.<br />

Tests on aggregates outlined in Table 414-2, other than abrasion, shall be performed on<br />

materials furnished for mix design purposes and composited to the mix design gradation.<br />

Abrasion shall be performed separately on samples from each source <strong>of</strong> mineral aggregate.<br />

All sources shall meet the requirements for abrasion.<br />

414-3.03 Mineral Admixture:<br />

Mineral admixture will be required. The amount shall be 1.0 percent, by weight <strong>of</strong> the<br />

mineral aggregate and shall be either portland cement type II or hydrated lime, conforming<br />

to the requirements <strong>of</strong> Table 414-3.<br />
