7.2 Construction of Asphalt Rubber Chip Seals
There are weather and other requirements for asphalt rubber chip seal applications that must be
followed to ensure a successful product. Table 9 shows that the application normally requires a
high binder application temperature and hot coated aggregate. California has found that
precoating the aggregate will increase the bonding and rock retention.
