As always, we have designed our products primarily with specific activities in
mind. We also focus on wear comfort, versatility and functionality. But at the
end of the day, you are the ones who decide when, where and how to use
our products. As long they help you to feel “At Home Outdoors”, in all
weathers, then we have done our job properly. And that’s what really counts.
We are only too aware of the ambivalence of our trips and expeditions. There
are many regions where the environment is already visibly under threat. In -
creasing agriculture, expanding living areas and non-sustainable forms of
tourism all take their toll. We believe in maintaining a responsible approach
to nature and are committed to leaving it intact for others to enjoy. We always
treat other regions, cultures and nature areas with the highest possible respect.
We take our responsibilities seriously.
We never stop looking for ways to minimize the negative impact of our actions
and have set ambitious targets. You can find more detailed information about
this on our website. (www.jack-wolfskin.com/responsibility)
For example, we have been supporting an initiative to protect the mountain
habitat of the bear, wolf and lynx. The program, which was initiated by our
friend Christoph Promberger, is set to become one of the largest privately
started nature protection projects in Europe. We will be there this summer
and look forward to telling you more about it next year.
We also set high targets for our products. In 2011 we became a member of
the bluesign®organisation with the aim of developing certified products based
on maximum resource productivity and environmental protection. We already
make a large number of products using bluesign®certified fabrics and materials.
The next step is to apply the auditing and accreditation process to our whole
upstream production chain. In addition, all the underwear in our Summer
2012 collection is certified according to the Oeko-Tex®Standard.
There’s lots more to report, but you told us to keep it brief. If you would like
to know more, you can find all the latest information at:
www.jack-wolfskin.com and in our blog: blog.jack-wolfskin.com.
Apart from that we look forward to seeing you …
