The softshell concept originated in the mountain sports sector, since it is here that the signature
attributes of softshell technology – best possible weather protection teamed with outstanding
breathability and freedom of movement – are most frequently required. The fact that softshells are
not required to be totally waterproof gives them a decisive advantage: sweat can escape through
the fabric faster. And softshells still provide adequate protection in 90% of weather situations.

A new alpine softshell designed for maximum functionality
and tailored from a very robust, lightweight and supple
fabric. The fabric is also windproof and extremely breath -
able, with added elastane for enhanced freedom of move -
ment and a reverse side that delivers basic insulation,
making the jacket suitable for year-round use.
To further improve the climate comfort and mobility,
while keeping the weight down, the side panels are made
from our extremely breathable, kinetic stretch FLEX
SHIELD DWR softshell fabric.
The jacket is equipped with a fixed hood that forms a
hermetic unit with the high collar to protect the head,
neck and chin. And at just 545g (size L), the SUMMITEER
also has an exceptional performance/weight spec.
