4. Thermal properties and glass stability; MDO 101<br />

Both glasses exhibited a typical DTA trace, showing endotherms for the glass transition<br />

(Tg) temperature and melting events (Ts and Tl) and exotherms for devitrification (Tx). Tg<br />

occurred at 274°C and 288°C, and Tx 329°C and 373°C for MOD001 and MOD002,<br />

respectively. This gives a Tx-Tg value of 55°C for MOD001 and 85°C for MOD002.<br />

TeO2-ZnO-Na2O (TZN) compositions<br />

Fig. (4.11) shows DTA traces for glasses MOD006 (77TeO2-10ZnO-10Na2O-3PbO mol.<br />

%), MOD007 (78TeO2-12ZnO-10Na2O mol. %), MOD008 (74TeO2-12ZnO-10Na2O-<br />

3PbO-1Yb2O3 mol. %) and MOD009 (77TeO2-12ZnO-10Na2O-1Yb2O3 mol. %).<br />
