different in intent; the Ethiopic is a complicati<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Minaeo-Sabaean, while the Cherokee is an<br />

attempt at simplificati<strong>on</strong>. Ph<strong>on</strong>etic equivalences <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the two syllabaries are arranged tabularly at the<br />
