AMEND Rule 16-109 to restate subsection b 1, to add a<br />

Committee note following subsection b 1, to add language to<br />

subsection b 3 concerning camera-equipped cellular phones and<br />

other similar devices, to add jury rooms to the list of locations<br />

to which subsection b 3 is applicable, to add a new subsection b<br />

7 (iii) pertaining to the testimony of child victims, to add a<br />

cross reference following subsection c 1, to add a new section d<br />

pertaining to certain actions by the presiding judge and the<br />

local administrative judge, to revise section f concerning<br />

restrictions on extended coverage, to reorganize and renumber the<br />

provisions in section g, and to add a Committee note following<br />

section g, as follows:<br />

Rule 16-109. PHOTOGRAPHING, RECORDING, BROADCASTING OR<br />

TELEVISING IN COURTHOUSES<br />

a. Definitions.<br />

1. "Extended coverage" means any recording or broadcasting of<br />

proceedings by the use of television, radio, photographic, or<br />

recording equipment by:<br />

(i) the news media, or<br />

(ii) by persons engaged in the preparation of educational<br />

films or recordings with the written approval of the presiding<br />

judge.<br />
