involved in the Juvenile Court in Caddo Parish.<br />

TRANSITION OF YOUTH TO ADULT SERVICES<br />

FY 2011 – Child/Youth<br />

The Office of Behavioral <strong>Health</strong>, Department of Education, and Department of Social <strong>Services</strong> are<br />

working with transitional age youth to identify and implement a strategic plan to provide peer<br />

supports and community resourced for successful transition to secondary educational settings.<br />

Summarized below are representative programs from each Hospital and Region / LGE in the state<br />

that facilitate the smooth transition of youth to adult services.<br />

SELH:<br />

Developmental Neuropsychiatric Program (Inpatient <strong>Services</strong>) includes social skills training,<br />

family therapy, and behavior management, parent training, and medication management to<br />

persons with co-occurring disorders<br />

Developmental Neuropsychiatric Program (Outpatient <strong>Services</strong>) includes parent training,<br />

home/school behavior management, medication management to persons with co-occurring<br />

disorders<br />

Challenges Program – Day treatment which offers therapeutic, educational, and behavioral<br />

treatments as well as medication interventions, 5 days a week<br />

Youth services (Inpatient) – 24 hr. a day, 7 days a week individual, group and family<br />

therapy, parent training, medication management, special education, and competency<br />

restoration<br />

ELMHS:<br />

Spring House - A group home/residential treatment program for teenage girls in the custody<br />

of the Office of <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Services</strong><br />

MHSD:<br />

Interagency Service Coordination (ISC) is offered to children between the ages of 7 and 18<br />

to coordinate services/resources<br />
