The Truancy Center is an early intervention program for children in kindergarten through 5 th<br />

grade who have had excessive unexcused absences, tardies, and suspensions.<br />

Soldiers of Compassion is a faith based program that provides mentor family education as<br />

well as drug and alcohol recovery<br />

Curfew Center- Shreveport: minors out after curfew are brought to the center and counseled<br />

regarding current law and consequences, parental counseling also offered<br />

Region VIII:<br />

FINS targets ages 6-18 to assist at-risk youth/families in order to prevent involvement with<br />

law-enforcement and other legal entities.<br />

DARE (ages 6-18) educate youth in schools/community settings on dangers of alcohol/drug<br />

use.<br />

Children‟s Coalition TEENSCREEN is a program to identify suicidality and other mental<br />

health issues in school-aged children and connect with appropriate services.<br />

FPHSA:<br />

Slidell Drug Court offers counseling, monitoring, and drug testing<br />

FINS/Youth <strong>Services</strong> Bureau provides group treatment, anger management and in home<br />

family treatment<br />

Options/Youth <strong>Services</strong> Bureau offers drug treatment and testing<br />

TASC/FINS provides truancy monitoring and referrals for services<br />

CASA provides court appointed Special Advocates to assure youth are receiving needed<br />

services<br />

New Directions/MMO is an inpatient unit for juvenile sexual perpetrators<br />

Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center offers tours of the facility and programs to deter<br />

behavior that would lead to placement<br />

Possibilities for a Better Tomorrow is a part school, part community based services for<br />

adolescents<br />

Juvenile Drug Court offered in 21 st JDC<br />

JPHSA:<br />

JP Juvenile Drug Court provides intensive treatment utilizing the Multi-systemic Therapy<br />

model<br />

JP Juvenile <strong>Services</strong>/ Functional Family Therapy (FFT) provides FFT to youth on probation<br />

JP Juvenile <strong>Services</strong>/Treatment <strong>Services</strong> has a variety of treatment contracts to serve youth<br />

on probation<br />

JP FINS Strengthening Families Program offers family group intervention for youth<br />

involved in FINS court<br />

Truancy Assessment Center (TASC) provides services for children and families who have<br />

been identified by high number of unexcused absences from school<br />
