4.2.3 Feeding habits<br />

The feeding habits of small mammals varied over sites though with no particular<br />

trend over the sites. Given the diversity of habitats over sites this is to be<br />

expected. Over the season there was some variation of feeding habits, probably<br />

due to change in food availability since many small mammal species adapt to<br />

constantly changing situations. Figures 25 and 26 give details of the percentage<br />

of species in each site against the main feeding habits.<br />
