3. INSTALL PISTON RETURN SPRINGS
(a) Install the twelve piston return springs, as shown.
(b) Install the spring seat.
(c) Pushing the spring seat, install the snap ring. Be
sure the end gap of the snap ring is not aligned
with the cutout portion of the O/D case.
HINT: Make sure that the snap ring is inserted its
groove.
4. INSTALL OVERDRIVE PLANETARY RING GEAR
(a) Coat the bearing and races with petroleum jelly
and install them onto the overdrive case.

Bearing 28.4 (1.118) 46.3 (1.823)
Race (Rear) 27.6 (1.087) 44.5 (1.752)
(b) Install the O/D planetary ring gear.

6. INSTALL PLATES AND DISCS
Install the three plates and three discs.
Install in order: P =Plate D =Disc
