chloride <strong>and</strong> chloroplatinate ; (3) sulphate ; (4) nitrate ; (5) carb<strong>on</strong>ate,<br />

(ii) Trisjrropylenediatnmines, [Pt(C3H6.N2H4)3]X4, in its racemic, dextro<strong>and</strong><br />

lsevo-forms, <strong>and</strong> represented by (1) chloride ; (2) bromide ;<br />

(3) iodide ; (4) sulphate ; (5) nitrate ; <strong>and</strong> (6) tartrate.<br />

2.—The pentammine family, or compounds of the tervalent group [PtA5X]X3.<br />

(i) Hydroxypentammines, [Pt(NHg)5(OH)]X3, represented by (1) chloride ;<br />

(2) carb<strong>on</strong>ate ; (3) nitrate ; <strong>and</strong> (4) acetate.<br />

(ii) Chloropentammines, [Pt(NH3)5Cl]X3, represented by the (1) hydroxide ;<br />

(iv) Chloroethylenediaminotriammines, [Pt(NH3)3 enCl]X3, represented by<br />

3.—The tetrammine family, or compounds represented by the PtA4-group.<br />

A.—Type : [PtA4X2]Y2, which has a bivalent group,<br />

(i) Vihydroxytetrammines, [Pt(NH3)4(OH)2]Y2, represented by (1)<br />

chloride <strong>and</strong> chloroplatinate ; (2) bromide ; (3) iodide ; (4) sulphate<br />

; (5) nitrite ; (6) nitrate ; <strong>and</strong> (7) dichromate.<br />

(ii) D ichlorotetr ammines, [Pt(NH3)4Cl2] Y2, represented by (1) chloride ;<br />

chloroplatinite, <strong>and</strong> chloroplatinate ; (2) bromide ; (3) sulphate<br />

<strong>and</strong> suIphatoj>latinate ; (4) nitrate <strong>and</strong> nitratoplatinate ; (5) carb<strong>on</strong>ate<br />

; (6) oxalate ; (7) thiocyanate ; (8) chromate ; <strong>and</strong> (9)<br />

dichromate.<br />

(iii) Dibrom-otetr-ammines, [Pt(NH3)4Br2]Y2, represented by (1) chloride ;<br />

(v) Bromoamidotetrammines, [Pt(NH3)4NH2BrJY2, represented by the<br />

bromide.<br />
