NETWORK INTERCONNECTION<br />

1.1 The Parties shall provide interconnection with each other's networks for the transmission and<br />

routing of telephone exchange service (Local Traffic), ISP-Bound Traffic, and exchange access<br />

(Switched Access Traffic) on the following terms:<br />

2 Definitions: (For the purpose of this Attachment)<br />

For purposes of this attachment only, the following terms shall have the definitions set forth below:<br />

2.1 Automatic Location Identification (ALI) is a feature by which the address associated with the<br />

calling party’s telephone number (ANI) is forwarded to the PSAP for display. Access to the ALI<br />

database is described in Attachment 2 to this Agreement.<br />

2.2 Automatic Number Identification (ANI) corresponds to the seven-digit telephone number<br />

assigned by the serving local exchange carrier.<br />

2.3 AT&T Trunk Group is defined as a one-way trunk group carrying AT&T originated traffic to be<br />

terminated by <strong>Southern</strong> <strong>Light</strong>.<br />

2.4 911 Service is as described in this Attachment.<br />

2.5 Call Termination has the meaning set forth for “termination” in 47 C.F.R. § 51.701(d).<br />

2.6 Call Transport has the meaning set forth for “transport” in 47 C.F.R. § 51.701(c).<br />

2.7 Call Transport and Termination is used collectively to mean the switching and transport functions<br />

from the Interconnection Point to the last point of switching.<br />

2.8 Common (Shared) Transport is defined as the transport of the originating Party’s traffic by the<br />

terminating Party over the terminating Party’s common (shared) facilities between (1) the<br />

terminating Party’s tandem switch and end office switch, (2) between the terminating Party’s<br />

tandem switches, and/or (3) between the terminating Party’s host and remote end office switches.<br />

All switches referred herein must be entered into The Telcordia® LERG Routing Guide (LERG).<br />

2.9 Dedicated Interoffice Facility is defined as a switch transport facility between a Party’s Serving<br />

Wire Center and the first point of switching within the LATA on the other Party’s network.<br />

2.10 End Office Switching is defined as the function that establishes a communications path between<br />

the trunk side and line side of the End Office switch.<br />

2.11 Fiber Meet is an interconnection arrangement whereby the Parties physically interconnect their<br />

networks via an optical fiber interface at which one Party’s facilities, provisioning, and maintenance<br />

responsibility begins and the other Party’s responsibility ends.<br />

2.12 Final Trunk Group is defined as the last choice trunk group between two (2) switches for which<br />

there is no alternate route.<br />
