implemented throughout the national forest to achieve the objectives of protecting life, property<br />

and natural resources. Maintain cooperative relationships vital to fire and fuels management<br />

effectiveness. Maintain the suppression organization at 95 percent of the most efficient level or<br />

higher, subject to annual funding (see also: Fire 1 - Fire Prevention; Fire 3 - Fire Suppression<br />

Emphasis; and Fire 4 - Firefighter and Public Safety).<br />

Vegetative treatments will be strategically integrated to maximize community protection efforts<br />

and minimize wildland fire size, while considering habitat needs. Annually review and<br />

implement the national forest's five-year fuels strategy (see also: Fire 2 - Direct Community<br />

Protection; Fire 5 - Fuelbreaks and Indirect Community Protection; and FH 3 - Restoration of<br />

<strong>Forest</strong> Health).<br />
