Managing Tasks<br />

This feature is only available with <strong>Ektron</strong> CMS<strong>300</strong>. If you are using <strong>CMS200</strong> and<br />

want to upgrade to CMS<strong>300</strong>, please contact your <strong>Ektron</strong> sales representative at<br />

A task is a request from one user to another to perform an action<br />

within <strong>Ektron</strong> <strong>CMS200</strong>/<strong>300</strong>. Examples of a tasks include:<br />

updating content<br />

publishing a content block<br />

updating an image<br />

reordering a collection<br />

Accessing the Tasks Folder<br />

The Tasks folder displays all tasks that are either assigned to you<br />

or that you assigned to another user or user group. You can also<br />

assign tasks to yourself.<br />

A task may or may not be related to a specific content block. If it is,<br />

you can access a content block then “attach” a task to it. This kind<br />

of task is managed just like the other tasks, but you can also view<br />

and update it via the attached content block. For more information,<br />

see ”Attaching a Task to a Content Block” on page 183.<br />

This chapter explains how to create, edit, and view tasks.<br />

To access the Tasks folder, follow these steps.<br />

1. Access your Smart Desktop, as explained in ”Understanding<br />

the Smart Desktop” on page 15.<br />

2. The Smart Desktop folder hierarchy appears in the top left<br />

frame.<br />
