On <strong>the</strong>ir voyage across, <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>versati<strong>on</strong> here recorded took place,<br />

and to <strong>the</strong>ir accounts of it both Evangelists prefix <strong>the</strong> remark that<br />

<strong>the</strong> disciples had forgotten to take bread. (<strong>The</strong> careful Mark even<br />

Such traits indicate <strong>the</strong> extreme accuracy of <strong>the</strong> sources of informa-<br />

ti<strong>on</strong> employed by Mark ; it is not thus that myths are formed. It<br />

would ill accord also with <strong>the</strong> idea that <strong>the</strong> sec<strong>on</strong>d narrative of feed-<br />
