ORNAMENTATION<br />

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR<br />

In addition to the upholstery material, trim<br />

styling, cushion springs, carpets, lighters, interior<br />

lights, foot rests, reading lamps, spare<br />

tire cover, trunk lining, wheelbase, etc., there<br />

are interior and exterior ornamentation differences<br />

between car series from Calais to<br />

Fleetwood.<br />

car door that houses the windshield wiper control<br />

are Black.<br />

A Rosewood insert is in the rim of the steering<br />

wheel on all cars except Calais which is<br />

Black.<br />

For minimum eye fatigue, by eliminating<br />

contrast, these match the soft black background<br />

of the instrument section of the panel<br />

on driver's side.<br />

CHARTS<br />

These items are charted on the next two<br />

pages which may be used to explain some of the<br />

exclusive features of the various series or body<br />

styles.<br />

For a better understanding, a clarification of<br />

captions on the charts follows.<br />

INSTRUMENT PANELS<br />

The instrument panel has two basic sections:<br />

instrument panel lower and instrument cover.<br />

Three types of ornamentation are applied to<br />

the insert sections of the panels depending<br />

upon the body style. They are 1) Rosewood 2)<br />

charcoal and silver design metal and 3) black<br />

camera grain texture.<br />

CLUSTER BEZEL INSERT<br />

This is a Rosewood applique that surrounds<br />

the accessory switches and telltales in a rectangular<br />

depressed area below the speedometer<br />

on the instrument panel. It is on all panels<br />

except the Calais.<br />

UPPER PANEL INSERT<br />

A cove insert area above the glove box.<br />

STEERING WHEEL, ETC.-BLACK<br />

Regardless of upholstery, the steering wheel,<br />

column, pad, shroud and a panel on driver's<br />

HORN CONTROL<br />

The new steering wheel includes a horn control<br />

which will sound the horns by compressing<br />

a vinyl inner ring anywhere along the wheel<br />

rim.<br />

OTHER ORNAMENTATION<br />

The Calais has red warning reflector on all<br />

doors. All other cars (except "75" rear doors)<br />

have combination white courtesy and red warning<br />

lamps.<br />

A <strong>Cadillac</strong> emblem in script is on right side<br />

instrument panel insert on all cars.<br />

A wreath and crest emblem is on right front<br />

door ahead of Rosewood insert panel and on<br />

back of front seat back on styles M, P and R.<br />

EXTERIOR CHART<br />

In addition to the items listed on page 28,<br />

hood emblems on all cars are as follows:<br />

Calais & De Ville-V & Crest<br />

Fleetwood—Wreath & Crest<br />

SIDE MARKER LAMPS<br />

Front are integral with cornering lamps and<br />

the bulb is amber.<br />

Rear are incorporated in the tail lamps,<br />

except Eldorado has a separate lamp on the<br />

lower rear quarter. It has a crest on a red lens<br />

with a bright chrome wreath bezel<br />

Firemist Chateau Mauve and Dk. Mauve upholstery complement<br />

each other.
