<strong>Cadillac</strong> introduces the exciting Fleetwood Eldorado, the<br />

only personal luxury car in the world to feature front wheel<br />

drive, variable-ratio power steering and automatic level control<br />

as standard equipment. This car is produced on a separate<br />

assembly line—the first time in the history of <strong>Cadillac</strong><br />

that cars have been produced on two assembly lines.<br />

First to introduce variable-ratio steering on American cars.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> introduces new coaxial resonator exhaust system,<br />

new one-piece propeller shaft with two CV (constant<br />

velocity) joints-, new perimeter frame with pheasant tail,<br />

all 1961 <strong>Cadillac</strong> motor cars equipped with factory-installed<br />

Air Conditioning.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> introduces to luxury car owners front-fender<br />

mounted directional signal indicator lights and an automatically<br />

releasing vacuum operated parking brake.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> becomes the only luxury motor car with an owner<br />

demand for well over 1,000,000 cars in a single decade.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> pioneered Four-Link Rear Suspension adopted as<br />

standard equipment with coil springs or (optional at extra<br />

charge) air suspension throughout entire line.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> introduces the fabulous Eldorado Brougham, a<br />

limited production luxury motor car with air suspension as<br />

standard equipment. All <strong>Cadillac</strong> modols feature the revolutionary<br />

new <strong>Cadillac</strong> tubular-center X frame.<br />

<strong>Cadillac</strong> becomes [he only car in its price class ever to be<br />

rewarded with an owner demand for over 150,000 cars in<br />
