Response - David C.: That will be included as part <strong>of</strong> the data collection <strong>and</strong> compilation task.<br />

Question Conf. Call: What is difference between beach s<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> inl<strong>and</strong> sediment/dirt? How<br />

much s<strong>and</strong> is removed by application & enforcement <strong>of</strong> sediment TMDL regulations? How<br />

much is removed with traps?<br />

Comment - Blake Anderson: noted that different stakeholders may have opposing objectives.<br />

Response - Karen G: the cartoon graphic in the MS PowerPoint presentation notes this <strong>and</strong><br />

one main purpose <strong>of</strong> the project will be to hopefully bridge those linkages.<br />

Question - David C.: Is meeting location central & acceptable.<br />

Response – All: General consensus was yes <strong>and</strong> there were no negative responses.<br />

Comment - David C.: Explained that the CSMW has defined locations <strong>of</strong> beach erosion as<br />

Beach Erosion Concern Areas (BECAs) <strong>and</strong> he provided examples along the Orange County<br />

shoreline.<br />

Question - Blake A.: is purpose to use the typical USACE benefit <strong>and</strong> cost parameters?<br />

Response – David C.: Approach will be to list benefits & costs, to be used for prioritization,<br />

without the intent <strong>of</strong> achieving specific thresholds or B/C ratio.<br />

Response - Heather S.: OC CRSMP will not be looking at typical USACE benefit categories.<br />

Dr. King’s analysis will be broader to include county <strong>and</strong> state criteria as well.<br />

Comment – King: please provide the PowerPoint presentations to the conference callers.<br />
